snowstar snow sports school

Why us? Whats a Snow Sport school? Why join?

If you are going to ski or snowboard do it right!

Like most activities, skiing or boarding are learned best when they are learned right. You progress faster, it's easier, it's safer and you don't pick up bad habits. Snowstar members will have the best instruction available from our own qualified professional ski & snowboard instructors. The Snowstar Snow Sports School is dedicated to teaching skiing and snowboarding the right way.

Who can Join?
The club is open to young people ages 7 thru 18. The Snowstar Snow Sports School presents a well-rounded teaching and recreational program stressing Safety, Fun, and Learning. Our members are our most enthusiastic promoters.

How does it work?
The program consists of weekly one day trips to various local ski areas complete with transportation, lessons and supervision. Members may choose either the Saturday program or the Sunday program. They have the option of switching days as long as a reservation is made with the Snowstar office. Updated trip information can be found on this website and on our phone answering system. After completing a membership application and paying the annual Tuition Fee, members receive monthly pre-season newsletters along with ski shop discount coupons and information about sales and specials. Starting November 1st, members receive a membership packet which includes a Membership Manual, ID card, Equipment ID Stickers and more.

Trip Cancelation Policy
Please keep in mind it is presumed that all Snowstar members will attend all trips under the program they signed up for (Saturday program or Sunday program). If a member is unable to attend a trip, either the member or the parent(s) must cancel on the Snowstar Website before 10 PM on the Thursday before the scheduled trip.

Instruction
Instruction is provided by Snowstar's professional ski and snowboard instructors. Classes range from beginner to expert and members progress to more advanced classes as their skills improve. Classes are limited to 6 to 8 students per instructor. Beginner students will stay with their instructor throughout the day until they show that they are able to achieve the next skill level.

Transportation
Transportation is by chartered school buses. Buses pick` up members at convenient pick-up locations around the metro area in the morning and return them to the same spot that evening. Bus schedules can be found here and in your Membership Manual and do not change in time or place throughout the season except for special trips as indicated. Pick up locations may be added or deleted during the season as membership warrants.

Supervision
Each bus has adult supervisors or instructors who travel with the bus and are on duty at the ski area to lend a helping hand, maintain decorum and assist, especially the beginners. Snowstar supervisors are also assigned to help at the Snowstar table located in each ski area's chalet. Any member that has a problem during the trip should go to the supervisor in the chalet and assistance will be given there.

Since 1962, Snowstar snowsports school has demonstrated its responsibility to parents and the skiing public by maintaining a high standard of behavior among its members.
